A couple steps from Dupont Circle, upon Connecticut Avenue, you will find Claude Taylor's photography shop. The windows, and the walls inside, are completely filled with Mr. Taylor's photos. They are all categorized by the different countries he has travelled to over past years. Beautiful colors and unique faces capture your attention as you wander through the narrow hallway leading to the back. All the pictures are for sale, mostly selling for $35 a piece, and $70 if framed. I can promise you'll be leaving the shop with a true sense of wanderlust.
Some background on the man himself - Claude Taylor is a professional travel photographer who was born in New York City, but grew up in Maine, attending Colby College as an undergrad. His political science degree led him to work alongside the Clinton campaigns in the 90s and also resulted in him working in the White House, where he was sent around the world. Here, throughout this period of traveling, Mr. Taylor apparently fell in love with photography. He opened up his shop on Connecticut Avenue in 1998.
It's a really fun and inspiring space and we hope you give it a visit!
